My name is Elina Eriksson and I am a self-taught photographer living on a farm in Kabwe, Zambia. When I turned thirty I had just decided that my love for photography was more than taking casual family photos, so I attended a photography workshop to get the basic skills and inspiration needed. I had also just had my fourth child and so I had a three month old baby on my arm while trying to get my head around the exposure triangle! Since then I have juggled motherhood, marriage, farm life and whatever life throws at you, meanwhile working on developing my photography skills and style – it’s been a journey! Now in my forties, I have come a long way, both as a woman and a photographer.

The best advice I ever received was to "focus on the emotions" - that has since been my mantra. I love catching the candid moments at a wedding, the raw and crazy vibes on the street and the cute and sometimes silly moments at a family shoot.

These are some of the organizations I’ve had the opportunity of working with; VSO, Restless Development, Barnsamariten, Martin House Trust School, Trident Preparatory Lusaka, Anna and Enar Holmgren Foundation.
